Our Vision

We believe that God’s purpose for St Margaret’s at this time is…

» to be a sanctuary connecting people with God’s love and hope,
» equipping and empowering people to live out the good news of Jesus.

This vision statement informs all that we do as a church and the way we welcome people,
offering hospitality and love, and encouraging people to live out their faith day to day.

Our Core Values are:

  • Confident – in sharing the gospel and in living Christ-centred lives witnessing to its power.

  • Compassionate – as we fulfil our desire for the whole church to be involved in social action
and pastoral care, working with our local community.

  • Creative – in our outreach and worship.

Traditional & Contemporary

St Margaret’s church is a historic building in the town centre of Edgware with a large community garden around it.  It is a grade II listed building. The inside is has a blend of historic, traditional features such as stain-glass windows and state-of-art lighting, sound system and projection screens for contemporary worship.

  • We are a culturally diverse family following Jesus.

  • Bible teaching is important to help us go deeper with God.

  • We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to all according to God’s time and purpose, for the building up of the church.

Contemporary Worship

As an evangelical charismatic church, contemporary worship forms an important part of our Sunday services.  Our worship is band-led, apart from one traditional hymn played on the organ at the start of the service. We expect to hear from God during our worship and prayer times, and regularly share prophetic words of encouragement and testimonies of God at work in people’s lives.

  • We enjoy worshiping freely with a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs and movement.

  • We believe that church services should be fun and engaging

  • We welcome newcomers from any background

Devoted to Prayer

Prayer underpins everything we do at St Margaret’s.
We start the day with Morning Prayer at 9 am on Monday – Thursday in church. Intercessory prayer is included in our mid-week Holy Communion services as well as Sunday services..

  • Prayer ministry available at every service

  • Church open for prayer at lunchtimes as often as possible

  • Prayer is a two-way conversation with God

Meet The Team

St Margaret’s Local Leadership Team meet regularly to discuss vision, mission, and how to support each other in ministry. Four members of the local leadership are also members of the Edgware Parochial Church Council (PCC). The Team Vicar post at St Margaret’s is currently vacant.
